Tuition and Semester Information

Here, you will find detailed information about our structured Fall and Spring Semesters, which offer 18 weeks of consistent, weekly music lessons, and our flexible Summer Semester, designed to accommodate your summer plans with private lessons and engaging week-long camps.

Tuition & Fees

  • During Summer Semester, lessons can be purchased individually or in packages of 7+ starting at $275.

  • 45-minute lessons:
    $1,140 per 18-week semester

    60-minute lessons:
    $1,400 per 18-week semester

    30-minute lessons*:
     $850 per 18-week semester

    *Voice students ages 9 & 10 only, please

  • 60-minute team lessons:
    $670 per 18-week semester

    For Fall 2024, we are starting 2 brand new "Prep A" Piano Teams for beginners.

    Ages 5-7
    Mondays from 3:30-4:30

    Ages 6-9
    Mondays from 4:45-5:45

    Classes begin September 9th. No new students will be added to piano teams after the second week of the semester.

    Have a more advanced student? Consider private lessons, or reach out to see if there is an already established piano team at their level.

  • The $45-per-semester registration fee covers all Hoffman Academy curriculum materials (repertoire, listening CDs, theory worksheets), participation at all Hoffman Academy recitals and events, registration administrative costs, borrowing access from our music lending library, and additional materials needed throughout the year.

    There is no registration fee charged during Summer Semester.

    Adult coaching students do not pay a registration fee.

  • Adult coaching sessions are charged at a rate of $80/hour, with most students opting for 45-minute lessons.

    There is no registration fee for coaching students.

    Adults looking for a more regular, rigorous program are welcome to participate in Hoffman Academy's semester programs as well, if they wish. Contact the office to discuss!

Tuition and registration fees are due in full upon enrollment.

Receipt of your payment reserves your placement at the Academy and signifies an agreement to our policies throughout the course of the student’s enrollment.

INSTALLMENT PLANS AVAILABLE
During Spring & Fall Semesters, families who are experiencing financial hardship or special circumstances that prevent them from paying tuition in full can apply for an installment plan. To be eligible for a tuition installment plan you must be enrolled, have a credit or debit card on file, and agree to have your installments set up on Auto-Pay. Fall & Spring Semesters

Weekly Private Music Lessons
Our Fall and Spring Semesters align roughly with the Beaverton School District calendar; consisting of 18 weeks of structured lessons at the same time each week. We observe a one-week break for Thanksgiving, a two-week winter break, and a one-week spring break. The Fall & Spring Semesters culminate in a mandatory off-site recital. Join at any point in the semester and we will pro-rate your tuition!

Weekly Piano Teams for Beginners
We also offer “Piano Team” group classes for young beginners (must join by the second week of the semester to qualify).

Come Together Week
During these semesters, we host two special “Come Together Week” sessions where the regular schedule may vary slightly (note: guitar students do not participate in CTW).

Summer Semester

Summer Private Music Lessons & Camps
Running for 12 weeks, Hoffman Academy – Portland’s Summer Semester offers flexible private music lessons for piano, guitar, and voice. Tailor your schedule to fit around your summer plans—perfect for testing the waters before committing to a full semester, or for trying out some pieces & styles outside of your usual repertoire. Meet for 1 week or 10 - Summer Semester is a more flexible time at the academy, allowing students & time to rest and travel while not losing traction.

Piano Summer Camps
Our week-long music camps are a great way to start a brand new piano student or for more experienced students to pick up additional piano skills & repertoire. For 2024, we are offering 2 “Jump Start” piano camps, 1 Video Game Music Piano Camp, and a Taylor Swift Piano Camp.
