Welcome to Hoffman Academy – Portland!
Located in the Cedar Mill neighborhood of Portland, OR, Hoffman Academy has offers comprehensive year-round music lessons for all ages. Choose from piano (ages 5+), guitar (ages 8+), and voice (ages 9+) lessons, available both in-person and online.
Creating a Generation of Music Makers
Our signature “Hoffman Method” marries modern learning science with a fun, engaging approach, ensuring consistent progress and a deep love for music. All of our teachers undergo intensive training in the Hoffman Method before seeing a single student.
How to Get Started:
- Complete the Enrollment Form on this page: Fill in your details, including availability and desired start date. We are happy to offer a $45 trial lesson before you commit!
- Choose Lesson Mode: Specify whether you’re enrolling for in-person lessons at our Portland academy or remote/virtual lessons from your home.
- Await Confirmation: Our team will contact you to schedule your first lesson and finalize details.
Academic Year Schedule
We operate on a semester basis. Join at any point in the semester & tuition will be prorated accordingly.
Spring Semester: February 5, 2024 – June 15, 2024
Summer Semester: June 17, 2024 – September 7, 2024
Fall Semester: September 9, 2024 – February 1, 2025
Fall & Spring Semesters
Our Fall and Spring Semesters align with the Beaverton School District calendar; consisting of 18 weeks of structured lessons at the same time each week. We observe a one-week break for Thanksgiving, a two-week winter break, and a one-week spring break. The Fall & Spring Semesters culminate in a mandatory recital.
During these semesters, we host two special “Come Together Week” sessions where the regular schedule may vary slightly (note: guitar students do not participate in CTW).
We also offer “Piano Team” group classes for young beginners (must join by the second week of the semester to qualify).
Summer Private Lessons & Camps
Running for 12 weeks, our Summer Semester offers flexible private lessons for piano, guitar, and voice. Tailor your schedule to fit around your summer plans—perfect for testing the waters before committing to a full semester.
Piano Summer Camps are a great way to start a brand new piano student or for more experienced students to pick up additional piano skills & repertoire. For 2024, we are offering 2 “Jump Start” piano camps, 1 Video Game Music Piano Camp, and a Taylor Swift Piano Camp. Learn more here.
